WHAT'S IN YOUR MIND?

Debut:  October | 2014 – Porto Alegre, RS

Freely based on the play "The Chairs", by Eugène Ionesco, in which an elderly couple receives in the isolated lighthouse where they live, invisible guests for which they need to pass an important message,  Cena Expandida debut project is a play that explores two key questions of contemporary reality: belonging and collectivity.

"What's in your mind?"  tells the story of an ex-loving couple, who in the midst of protests sweeping the country find each other in the social networks. HE, a timid political activist who sees the digital world as the tool that will make possible the revolution he had always dreamed about.  SHE, an actress inebriated with the popular dissatisfaction on the streets, which joins the mass wishing to leave her mark in the world.

In a hybrid scenario, which brings together theater, cinema and internet, we follow the two fleeing from constant fear of loneliness, whereas they try to survive the tension between virtual  and real.

The project was awarded with  the "FUNARTE -   Myriam Muniz Theater Award 2013" and debuted in october/2014, in Porto Alegre.

Debut: Outubro | 2010– Porto Alegre, RS

Stuffed with pop references, the award-winning play discusses the artist's identity construction. From the conceptual freedom of his work to the commercialization of the same for the great mass consumer, the show revisits the life and work of Michael Jackson.

There are four literary references that are part of the dramaturgy inspiration: Peter Pan, from JM Barrie; Alice in Wonderland, from Lewis Carroll; Michael Jackson's biography of J. Randy Taraborrelli; and Roda Viva, from Chico Buarque.

In addition to the textual references, the show uses a very strong visual perspective, based on Michael Jackson life, work, songs and aesthetic, setting it in a world where dreams and reality merge. The play has songs sung live by the actors in an alternative space that extends the theatrical experience and brings the audience into this magical world where only one can be king.
